With great sadness and heavy hearts the Competitions Committee of the federation in close collaboration with Minthis GC management have today taken the tough, but necessary decision to postpone the Cyprus Amateur Men’s Open, due to take place at Minthis GC between 20-23 May 2021. There are two overriding concerns that have caused us to make this decision at this time.
First, our primary concern is and always will be the health and safety of our participants, officials and host venue staff.
Second, is the uncertainty caused by the current lockdown announced recently by the Cyprus government, which is due to remain in place until 10 May. This makes the probability of last minute cancellation of the event due to factors outside our control, such as potential travel and safety restrictions announced post lock-down, that much higher.
We assure you that we are working very closely with the host course exploring options for the reschedulling of the event later on in 2021. The Competitions Committee of the Cyprus Golf Federation will announce the new dates and details as soon as these become available.
We thank you for your patience and understanding in these unprecedented times and hope that you will be one of the competitors taking part in the rescheduled event later in the year. Of course, any entry fee already paid will now be refunded. Please keep checking the CGF’s website for further announcements and information regarding rescheduling of the Men’s Open as well as information on other federation events.«« back ««
